The aim of this course is to raise students’ awareness about the need to ask questions in class.
There is a short video on how students feel about asking question, why teachers want students to ask questions and why students don’t ask questions.
There is a comprehension quiz, vocabulary exercise and transcript.
This course covers CEFR A2 competences such as “can ask and answer questions about habits and routines” (CEFR 2007).
Darren is the eLearning and Multimedia Co-ordinator for English Language Programs (ELP) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Darren has a Master's degree in Applied Linguistics, specialising in Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL). Darren worked with Rena Frohman, a Language and Learning Advisor from QUT International Student Services and Helen Jones, a QUT Student Welfare Officer (now retired), to write the scripts for the Cultural Bridge videos on the MOOEC, conduct student feedback, and arrange video production and post-production in association with QUT eLearning Services. Darren also designed the quizzes and reflections.
